Seeing global patterns and processes over time and space while connecting local developments to global ones

    When a global pattern occurs in the world, it means people have found a new idea and the world is easily, or in some cases forcefully, adapted in to their culture. For example, industry began to take over the world when it was first introduced in England. Seeing how it was easier and cheaper to make clothes, food, weapons and all sorts of utilities, people began to adapt these ideas. I have learned to make these connections by asking, why were these changes occuring and how was it spreading throughout the world. These connections can be made when you fully understand how and why these ideas were so popular.  When analyzing change over time, another skill that was helpful to have is to be able to connect and see how the changes affected certain places. This is different than simply finding out why things changed and stayed the same, but how the major changes caused changes in local regions. We have also learned how to connect many small processes and events to the big picture, or the global developments. I have learned to look the big picture events and how to relate them or how to analyze the impact on local events. To be able to do this is to read the book, reading all the chapters, by doing the notes to refresh what I just have read. Also by doing the flashcards of the important historical characters that have changed the world or that discover regions that they can not imagine. By doing the flashcards help me to know what the historical character do, how he impacted  the society. Important historical people are sometimes the ones that lead the global pattern.The "Big Picture" can be broadly described as a broad list of aspects of highlights for a given period that fit more than a single culture even more than one region. But later in the year, I begun to notice how big events within a nation/society/state affected other societies.
